Public Safety Marine Specialist
Marine Service Built for Police, Fire & Emergency Response
Bergen Performance Marine provides maintenance, repair, diagnostics, electronics, electrical, rigging and vessel-support services for police departments, fire departments, rescue organizations and other public-safety marine units throughout New Jersey and the NY Metro area.
We are a veteran and first-responder-owned family business. We understand that a public-safety boat is not recreational equipment—it is an operational asset that may be called on in poor weather, at night, under pressure and when failure is not an option.
We Understand the Mission
Public-safety vessels are used differently than recreational boats. They may idle for extended periods, operate at low speed during searches, run hard during emergency response, carry additional electrical loads, use thermal imaging and communications equipment, and need to remain ready even when hours of use are low. Our service approach accounts for the way the vessel is actually deployed.
Police Marine Units
Patrol boats, harbor units, emergency-service vessels, dive-team boats, rigid inflatables and specialized enforcement platforms.
Fire & Rescue Departments
Fireboats, rescue boats, RIBs, jet-powered craft, personal watercraft and marine-response platforms.
Emergency Management
Municipal, county and regional emergency-response agencies requiring dependable marine assets and support equipment.
Specialized Public Safety Units
Dive, ESU, search-and-rescue, marine operations and other units with mission-specific electronics, lighting and communications requirements.
Annual Maintenance & Fleet Readiness
We can build a recurring maintenance plan around engine hours, seasonal use, manufacturer intervals and your agency's operational needs. The goal is to identify service items before they become mission-impacting failures.
Oil, filters, gear lube and routine inspection items based on propulsion package and manufacturer requirements.
Expanded scheduled maintenance including applicable spark plugs, water pumps, gear service and additional inspection items.
Commissioning, winterization, battery and charging checks, bilge systems, raw-water systems and freeze-protection services.
Preventive inspection of propulsion, electrical, steering, pumps, safety systems, electronics and mission-critical accessories.

Budgetary estimates for upcoming maintenance, electronics upgrades, repowers and capital-equipment planning.
Grant & Capital-Funding Assistance
When an agency is pursuing grant or capital funding, we can help provide the technical and vendor-side information needed to support the application and purchasing process.
Support may include itemized estimates, equipment specifications, proposed scope of work, system descriptions, project phasing, equipment alternatives and documentation needed to support budget justification. We can also help agencies define a realistic marine-equipment package before a grant or capital request is submitted.
Grant eligibility, application requirements and award decisions are controlled by the applicable funding agency. Bergen Performance Marine does not guarantee funding or grant approval.
A Service Partner Who Understands Public Safety Operations
Our background in military, law enforcement, fire service and emergency response gives us a practical understanding of how public-safety equipment is expected to perform. We know that an installation that looks clean at the dock is not enough. Controls must be intuitive, wiring must be serviceable, systems must tolerate demanding use, and the vessel must be configured so crews can operate it under stress.
That perspective influences how we diagnose problems, recommend equipment, route wiring, place controls, configure electronics and prioritize reliability.
Public Safety Service Process
Discuss the vessel, agency mission, current issues, usage profile and required capabilities.
Inspect and test the applicable propulsion, electrical, electronics and auxiliary systems.
Provide a clear proposed scope, parts and equipment requirements, service recommendations and pricing for authorization.
Complete approved work, configure systems, test operation and document the completed service as required.
