Mercury Authorized Repower Center in New Jersey
Mercury Authorized Repower Center
Repower With Mercury. Rig It as a Complete System.
Bergen Performance Marine provides Mercury outboard repower planning, installation, rigging, controls, steering integration, SmartCraft setup and commissioning for boat owners throughout New Jersey and the NYC Metro region.
More Than an Engine Swap
Mercury describes a repower as an opportunity to upgrade the complete propulsion package, including controls, displays and related equipment. We plan the installation around the boat, the intended use and the systems already aboard.
Engine Selection
Match the Mercury outboard package to the vessel, application, transom limits and performance goals.
Controls & DTS
Integrate compatible Mercury mechanical or Digital Throttle & Shift controls, control stations and associated harnessing.
SmartCraft & VesselView
Plan compatible engine data, gauges, displays, VesselView and SmartCraft features as part of the propulsion system.
Steering Integration
Evaluate compatible hydraulic, power or electric steering requirements based on the engine package and vessel configuration.
Rigging & Harnesses
Controls, wiring, gauges, networks, batteries, charging, fuel delivery and related rigging are treated as one coordinated installation.
Setup & Commissioning
Complete required system configuration, checks, setup and post-installation testing before delivery.
Mercury Rigging, Controls & SmartCraft
Mercury’s repower guidance specifically highlights upgrading controls, gauges, electronics and accessories along with the engine. Depending on the selected engine and boat configuration, a repower can incorporate Mercury Digital Throttle & Shift, VesselView displays, SmartCraft integration, Active Trim and compatible steering systems.
Compatibility varies by engine family, horsepower, steering system, number of engines and existing boat rigging. We evaluate those requirements before finalizing the package so the engine, helm controls and supporting systems are designed to work together.
Mercury Warranty & Product Protection
Mercury states that recreational Mercury engines include up to three years of limited warranty coverage, with exact coverage determined by the specific product and applicable warranty terms.
Mercury also states that when genuine Mercury gauges, controls and rigging are used in an eligible repower installation, qualifying components can receive warranty coverage matching the engine warranty. Exact component eligibility and terms apply.
Proper product registration and Mercury-required pre-delivery inspection documentation are important to warranty coverage. Mercury Product Protection may also be available on eligible products to extend total factory-backed coverage to as much as eight years when purchased within the applicable eligibility period.
Warranty terms, exclusions, product eligibility and coverage periods are established by Mercury Marine and may vary by product and usage. Final warranty coverage is governed by Mercury’s written warranty documents and Product Protection contract.
